CHRISSI AND HER TEAM

A self-made business woman, Christine L. Villa, aka Chrissi Villa, is the founder of Purple Cotton Candy Arts. What started out as a small business to explore her own creativity in arts and crafts, has expanded into publishing children’s picture books. A graduate of one of the courses offered by the Institute of Children’s Literature, “Writing for Children and Teenagers (2010),” Christine has written and published ten children’s book titles since 2014, three of which won awards in the Northern California Publishers and Authors (NCPA) Book Award Competition 2018, 2019, and 2020. In 2021, two of her children’s books in the Purple Dragonfly Book Awards.
Aside from being a recognized children’s writer, Chrissi is also an award-winning poet. Her passion for haiku and tanka writing has resulted in the publication of her work in some of the most renowned online and print journals worldwide, garnered her several awards, and seen her bring out her debut full-length collection of Japanese short-form poetry entitled The Bluebird’s Cry. She is the founding editor of Frameless Sky (a short-form poetry video journal) and of Velvet Dusk Publishing for haiku, tanka, and cherita. She is also the former editor of Ribbons, the official publication of the Tanka Society of America.

Kathrina Iris is a graphic designer and illustrator known to offer nothing less than high-quality graphic services. With 7 years of experience as a freelancer in the field of graphics, she has learned how to make her work add value to any goal-oriented individual, startups and small businesses, and social organizations. Through the continuous use of ever-evolving software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, and InDesign, she has discovered that her strengths lie in creating illustrations for children's books, animations, designing book covers, and a host of other handy tools under her belt. |
ILLUSTRATOR
As an illustrator and graphic designer, Kathleen Sue Mallari has more than 12 years of experience in using Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe InDesign on both PC and MAC formats. She specializes in illustrating children’s books, logo designs, book and ebook cover designs, advertisement layout, and image vectorization. Her greatest desire is to provide excellent and satisfying work based on the client's needs. |
ILLUSTRATOR
As a child growing up in Leyte, Philippines, drawing was Jiliane Vilches' greatest passion. Every summer, she could not wait to immerse myself in drawing and painting classes so she could hone her skills. To the delight of my classmates, she began creating comics in high school. The Amazing Glass House: A Haiku Storybook is her first venture as a book illustrator. Aside from being an artist, she is also an animator. |
